Recently, New Energy Co., Ltd. Wuhan Lixing put into production this year 20000 lithium batteries used in electric bike specifically for the State Post Bureau is equipped with electric bicycles, the highest life expectancy in the country, according to residents daily mileage, up to 5 years.

Electric bicycle body is not heavy, but the <a href="http://www.new-laptop-battery.com"title="" >batteries VGP-BPS8 , VGP-BPS8A are very heavy. Market, the vast majority of electric bicycles use of lead-acid batteries, weight 13 kg, life expectancy 2 years, 100% of about 200 times the number of charge cycles; while lithium batteries weighs about 4 kg, 100% up to 2200 times the number of charge cycles, are the field, production, retail sales were lower than the lead-acid batteries twice as high.

New Energy Co., Ltd. Deputy General Manager Li Xing Wang Chuan-yi said that in the civilian area of focus on production of electric bicycle lithium battery, solar cells and other new energy products, thus filling the gaps in Wuhan manufacturing. With the increase in production, ex-factory price will be reduced to around thousand dollars.

Cellphone giant Nokia has filed for a patent in the US for a self-charging cellphone <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery. Officially dubbed Piezoelectric Kinetic Energy Harvester, the idea involves a battery that’s mounted in a larger frame and isolated from it by piezoelectric elements. Thus, kinetic energy is used to produce electricity to “at least partially recharge the device battery.”

Phones themselves could have integrated piezoelectric elements to provide further energy for the dell battery . The idea is similar in theory, if not execution, to kinetic powered watches, which use motion to charge their <a href="http://www.new-laptop-battery.com"title="" >batteries GK479 , FK890 , Inspiron 1720 battery . According to the Nokia patent, larger components inside the phone, such as the radio transmitter and battery travel along two sets of rails, one that travels horizontally and one that travels vertically, before hitting a capacitor that charges the battery

Although we are known as nickel-metal hydride <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery lead, but the torch high-tech nickel-metal hydride battery business, as there is no performance for the company, “building blocks.” The development of new energy vehicles for the nickel-metal hydride <a href="http://www.new-laptop-battery.com"title="" >batteries, not yet been realized production, but it will experience “out.”

Nevertheless, the torch is still experienced a long high-tech nickel-metal hydride battery R & D and production process. It is understood that the torch high in rechargeable Ni-MH battery research for nearly 20 years. Since 2000, companies focused on development of nickel-hydrogen battery; in 2006 developed “hybrid cars use nickel-hydrogen battery research and development” projects as key components of electric vehicles.

And starting in 2006, the company receiving country 3 years 9 million of research funding for subsidies, began to take over power battery development and research. Torch Hi-Tech is currently in the main production of electric toys and electric tools with nickel-metal hydride batteries. Torch High-tech in 2008 sales revenue of 13.87 million yuan, up flat; operating loss of 4.63 million, an increase of 1.25 million deficit, at present the company has an annual output of 20 million Ah nickel-hydrogen battery capacity such as VGP-BPS2C , VGP-BPL2 .

The torch has now become the high-power battery research and development area, the company has developed quite rapidly, is the design, research and development power battery 150,000 kilometers. March 3, the torch high-tech said that at present about the new energy vehicles in nickel-metal hydride batteries, but also part of laboratory products, no large-scale production, it has not contributed significantly to the performance of the company.

Nevertheless, the Torch High-tech is still planning to invest in expansion nickel-metal hydride batteries, through the investment in building on the annual output of 363 million Ah nickel-hydrogen battery expansion project plans, the project total investment of 1.315 billion yuan.
According to the announcement shows that the project in two phases by the end of 2009 to a 338 million investment is expected to put into production by the end of 2010, adding 80 million Ah capacity, total production capacity reached 100 million Ah; two years of construction in 2011, the new 617 million yuan, the new 263 million Ah, total production capacity reached 363 million Ah, for 50 million vehicles to use. According to the fast development of new energy vehicles in Japan’s investment into related businesses, the majority of investment and focus on areas of lithium batteries.

According to Japan’s Fuji economic forecast, the mainstream nickel-metal hydride batteries will continue until 2011, starting in 2011, lithium batteries VGP-BPS9A/B , VGP-BPS9/S will begin to gradually replace the nickel-metal hydride batteries.

The agency forecast data show that nickel-hydrogen cell car in 2009 global market size of the scale than in 2008 increased 23.7%, to ¥ 92,000,000,000, but the nickel-hydrogen cell car in 2015 the market size will fall to 55 billion Japanese yen, nearly half of the decline.

According to China’s current vehicle dynamic development of the trend, the torch high-tech nickel-metal hydride batteries while the adoption of six domestic automobile manufacturers certification, but did not receive any orders, which is that it has been in the performance reports failed to see red the main reason.

At the same time in the global vehicle power Sony battery technology road updates, as well as lithium-ion battery power accelerating the industrialization process in the case, the torch high-tech program of expansion can be achieved? Even if the program implementation, investment recovery more difficult than before the increased number of risk factors rise.

But at the same time, the torch high-tech some of their own opportunities for development.

December 10 last year, the State Council executive meeting pointed out that in the five cities on the private purchase of energy-saving and new energy vehicles to give subsidies to the pilot. According to projections, in 2010 the first batch of pilot scale 50000 about subsidies for new energy vehicles in 2011 is expected to start 15 to 20 cities, new energy auto output will reach 200,000 or more.

To the generations uninterrupted flow of energy in the <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery probably will soon be thrown into the dustbin of history. According to the British “Daily Post” recently reported that British scientists have developed a can store and release energy of the ultra-thin plastic, that, or will completely change the way people use mobile phones, cars and even clothing approach. , University of London Imperial College Aviation Department Amily.Green Half a research team led by Dr. R & D out of the plastic, it is not a real battery, but a super-capacitor circuits similar to the common capacitor.

The researchers first formed by two layers of carbon fiber sandwiching a layer of material in the glass fiber, when this “sandwich” is electricity, the electrons from a carbon fiber layer to another layer of carbon fiber, this will produce positive and negative electric charge. When the device is inserted into an electrical device, it can be the same work as regular <a href="http://www.new-laptop-battery.com"title="" >batteries.

The team completed a sample of about 32 square centimeters, and the ultra-thin, with normal power supply for 5 seconds can be filled with electricity, and enable an LED lighting for 20 minutes. They are currently working with Volvo Car Corporation to launch a period of 3 years, 3 million pounds investment in the project to prepare such materials for hybrid gasoline-electric car, using it to replace Volvo Car boxes spare tire hanging included metal floor. The researchers said that with this technology, the future of cars can get energy from the roof and even doors. This also means that cars will become more smaller, lighter and more efficient.

The researchers said that the speed of the material charge and discharge the battery faster than normal, and there is no chemical reaction, therefore, have a longer service life, will be a very wide range of applications. This means that power mobile phones , Tecra A3 , Tecra A4 , Tecra A5 and iPod, etc. The duration will be doubled, but also to make these electronic gadgets as thin as a credit card. In addition, it can also be used to make flexible computer screen, when the people can be folded like paper and a computer to carry, and that the use of the computer time will be longer.

In addition, people can also use it to create “electronic clothing”, which in people can be charged when moving around, and release heat when the weather cools. The researchers said that so far, no one has produced such material, it will within a decade is expected to replace the battery.

Toshiba will be April 1, 2010 by the United States SunPower begin selling single-crystal Si solar cell modules consisting of residential solar cell systems. Toshiba said that “in order to promote the all-electric technology and intelligent network services, decided to set foot in the field of residential solar cell systems.” Also plans to sell in the future with the company’s lithium-ion rechargeable <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery “SCiB” and intelligent energy meters and other combinations of solar cell systems.

Toshiba will sell the residential solar cell systems, including solar power regulator modules (power conversion efficiency of 94%), and color displays, and all other equipment, by outsourcing.

One, SunPower’s solar cell modules “SPR-210N-WHT-J” is characterized by cell constitutes a module conversion efficiency as high as 21.5%. “In the current solar cells have been introduced for the highest level” (Toshiba). In the use of single-crystal Si cell at the same time, only in the back of the set through the use of electrodes on the back contact structure to increase the size achieved by the light. Module conversion efficiency of 16.9%, the module maximum output power of 210W.

Back contact structure, the advantages of not only by improving the conversion efficiency. As the electrode is not in the surface, the solar cell electrode settings will not be reflected dazzling light. The construction industry who have “solar cells on the surface of the electrode is designed to work” calls, such a structure can solve this problem.

SunPower’s solar modules into the Japanese domestic market, it seems the Japanese solar cell manufacturers will have a domestic strategy to create no small impact. Referred to in Japan prior to a high conversion efficiency solar cells, tend to think of Sanyo Electric’s “HIT (HeterojunctionwithIntrinsicThinlayer) solar cells.” Sanyo Electric and SunPower has learned to compete on the highest conversion efficiency. On the back contact structure, and Kyocera are also plans to go public in a multi-crystalline Si solar cells used in products PA3399U-1BRS , PA3399U-2BAS , PA3399U-2BRS .

On Thursday, Governor Jennifer Granholm announced a joint business venture between the state and Dow Chemical Company-Midland. “We want to make sure people know this is gona be a different Michigan at the end of this diversification effort, but we will be a sturdier economy than we were going in,” the Governor said.

The Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for the company that is expected to create more than 6,000 clean energy jobs. Dow will rake in more than $1 billion for projects intended to put hundreds back to work again.

“We’ve announced a 1.2 million watt hour facility in Midland that would employ up to eight-hundred people when fully operational,” said Dow Kokam’s Director of Public Affairs Kristina Schnepf.

Although the job outlook for the state is promising, the Governor said major changes take time. “We’d love to replace all those lost automotive jobs, but it takes a long time. Alternative energy is one aspect of it–it’s not the only aspect,” she said. The Governor acknowledged additional sectors that would likely revive the state’s economy; areas such as homeland security and defense, advanced manufacturing, film, tourism, and small business were high priorities on her list. “We want people in Michigan to realize while we’re very proud of our larger employers, but Dow at one point was started by a man who had a great idea,” she said. The job creation state tax credit will extend 15 years, and will include projects targeting wind, solar, and advanced <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery manufacturing.

What is the potential for carbon “nanotubes” in <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery technology? I heard them referred to as the biggest battery breakthrough to come along in years. And what else can we expect to see in terms of new battery technology in coming years?

R.M. Koncan

via e-mail

The rechargeable lithium-ion <a href="http://www.new-laptop-battery.com"title="" >batteries now so common in everything from iPods to hybrid cars can store twice the energy of similarly sized nickel-metal hydride batteries and up to six times as much as their lead-acid progenitors. But these advances are only a small evolutionary step from the world’s first battery designed by Alessandro Volta in 1800 using layers of metal and blotting paper soaked in salt water.

With battery technology advances long overdue, researchers are racing to develop more efficient ways to store power. One hopeful option is in the use of carbon nanotubes, which can store much more electricity by weight than lithium-ion batteries Inspiron E1405 battery , Inspiron E1505 battery while keeping their charge and remain durable for far longer.

But what are carbon nanotubes, and how can they be used to store energy? Technicians skilled in working with matter at the molecular (nano) level can arrange pure carbon molecules in cylindrical structures that are not both strong and flexible. They have significantly higher energy density and can store more electricity than any currently available technology. These tubes, each only billionths of a meter wide, essentially become highly efficient, electrically conductive pipes for storing and providing power.

Electrical engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have formed carbon molecules into tiny springs that store as much electricity as same sized lithium-ion batteries but can maintain a charge while dormant for years and work well in temperature extremes. Stanford University researchers have created ink made from carbon nanotubes that can be drawn onto paper where it serves as a high-capacity rechargeable energy storage medium. And University of Maryland scientists have created nanostructures able to store and transport power at 10 times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.

Other technologies in development include batteries HD438 ,U4873 , HF674 using zinc-air, lithium-air and other combinations of elements to provide longer run-times between recharges. Others still are working on prototype nuclear batteries, the trick being to make them small enough to be practical, let alone safe.

Of course, the accelerating growth of nanotechnology itself, which has not yet been thoroughly tested to evaluate potential down sides, has some health advocates worried. Animal studies have shown that some nanoparticles, if inhaled or ingested, can harm the lungs and also cross the blood-brain barrier, which protects the brain from toxins in the bloodstream.

And then there are fuel cells, created in 1839 but only recently commercialized. Not batteries per se, fuel cells generate, store and dispense power by forcing a reaction between a fuel (hydrogen from water, methanol) and oxygen, creating usable non-polluting electricity. One major hurdle for fuel cell makers is making them small enough to be able to work in laptops and other small personal electronics.

According to Steve Jobs, running Flash video on the iPad would cut its <a href="http://www.batteryoffice.com"title="" >battery life from 10 hours to a measly 1.5. at least, that was his pitch to Wall Street Journal execs recently. but could it possibly be true?

Well, yes and no. Jobs is picking and choosing here between hypothetical versions of Flash. If the iPad version of Flash were to have hardware acceleration, which Flash 10.1 offered up for desktops (though not OS X), that wouldn’t be remotely the case. If Flash on the iPad were to support hardware video decoding where available, it wouldn’t require nearly as much CPU. You’d lose battery life, sure, the same way you lose battery life watching any type of video on any system, but nothing near as dramatic as 85%.

Of course, that hardware acceleration isn’t currently possible on Macs, because Adobe doesn’t have access to the appropriate APIs. so Jobs can easily on a imaginary version of Flash that doesn’t have hardware acceleration and come up with an imaginary battery life impact.

Jobs’s bigger fib might be his description of ditching Flash as “trivial.” It’s not. While HTML5 is good, it’s not great—yet. And even when it becomes great, it’ll take major sites years to make the switch—however long it takes for the majority of internet users to stop using outmoded browsers. And that won’t be for a very long time. Certainly longer than the first few generations of the iPad.

So. would Flash make the iPad’s battery life only 1.5 hours? maybe, maybe not. but the bigger question is: will we ever get the chance to find out for ourselves?
